Ruraltrieval deals with strategies for retrieval and resource discovery for information systems in the area of agriculture and natural resources. The participants are involved in shaping these facilities in the information systems for which they work. The participants can exchange experiences and ideas about questions such as:

• For which purposes do we use full text searching, for which meta-data searching?
• What is the role of controlled vocabularies such as ontologies?
• How to design a user interface that tempts users to use advanced retrieval features?
• What are the experiences with specific search engines?
