Welcome to the workspace on ICT-based enterprise for women in developing countries.

Our aim is to build knowledge about the relationship between women, development and ICT-based enterprises. These enterprises represent new mechanisms for wealth and skill creation. They include work such as data entry, programming, Web design, hardware assembly, ICT training, ICT consultancy, and other productive activities where ICTs are fundamental to the enterprise.

We are particularly seeking to build knowledge: about the impacts of such enterprises on women, their lives and livelihoods; and about business models and strategies for sustaining and developing such enterprises.

This list was created as part of a project funded by the UK's Department for International Development and co-ordinated by IDPM, at the University of Manchester, UK.
